PROGRESS REPORTS
15th Mar 2006:
The School was ceremonially opened on 4th March 2006. The students now have a brand new model school to study in and can begin dismantling the temporary shelters that they used after their school was destroyed.

15th Feb 2006:
Date for official opening now confirmed for 4th March 2006. All work has now been completed.

31st Jan 2006:
Date for official opening now confirmed for 4th March 2006. All work has now been completed.

15th Jan 2006:
Work is now progressing on erection of monument. Date for opening still at 5th February but may be changed owing to security concerns.

31st Dec 2005:
All work on the school building is now complete including staff quarters. Minor finishing touches required in some areas of roadway. Tentative date for official opening 5th February 2006.

15th Dec 2005:
Construction work on the school is now complete. Finishing touches being added to roadway and other areas of school. Await date for official opening.

30th Nov 2005:
Work continues to progress well after slight lull due to reduction of staff. 90% of construction is now complete and schools is expected to be complete by 15th December 2005.

15th Nov 2005:
Work pace slowed down once again but this time due to Presidential elections where most workers returned to their homes to cast their vote. Project is still about two weeks behind schedule but still hopefil of opening school by 11th Dec 2005.

31st Oct 2005:
Workforce has reduced in last week due to local festival and consequently work pace has slowed down and is now two weeks behind schedule.

15th Oct 2005:
Work continues at feverish pace. Most of the major construction work is completed and workforce now concentrating on the finishes. Expect school to be ready by 30th November 2005.

30th Sep 2005:
Work progressing very well.More than 60% complete includng Principal & Staff quarters and boundary wall of school.

15th Sep 2005:
Work continues to progress well and ahead of schedule. More than 50% of the construction has been completed.

31 August 2005:
Work progressing well and ahead of schedule.First floor concrete slab completed for both Primary and Secondary School buildings.Simultaneous work being done on 3rd floor of existing structure.

15 August 2005:
Work continues at a good pace and on schedule. Primary brickworks ongoing and Secondary section brickwork completed upto first floor. 1st Floor slab shuttering in progress.

31 July 2005:
Work continues at a good pace. Primary brickworks ongoing and Secondary section brickwork completed upto beam level. Principal/Staff quarters foundations also in progress.

15 July 2005:
Work is progressing at a good pace. Primary and Secondary section completed upto DPC level.

30 June 2005:
Work in progress on repair of partially damaged structure.

29 May 2005:
The groundbreaking and foundation stone laying ceremony was conducted by the Rotary Club of Kandy. DG Lucky Pieris and everal members of the Apex Committee participated in the event together with the Ministry of Education Representative and school staff.

21 April 2005:
Preliminary designs and estimates have been forwarded to the Apex Committee for evaluation and award of contract.

7 Feb 2005:
Work has begun to clean out school premises and make preliminary inspections.
Expect to have initial estimates and BOQ’s in hand by last week February
