30th November 2008
School was formally declared open in a colourful ceremony on 24th November. TRF Trustee David Morgan was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

31st October 2008
All work is completed and the new school is ready for the ceremonial opening which is scheduled for 24th November 2008.

31st Aug 2008
Opening ceremony has been postponed indefinitely pending confirmation of date from sponsors. Apex Comm has decided to allow students to use the new school immediately and not wait for the official opening.

All work is completed and the new school is ready for the ceremonial opening.

30th June 2008:
Work continues to progress steadily with 95% of the work now done and construction is expected to be completed by mid July. Ceremonial opening of new school scheduled for last week of July.

31st May 2008:
The work pace has picked up again with a full complement of the workforce now at site. Target end date is now revised to mid July 2008.

30th April 2008:
Work pace is disappointingly slow as the site was closed for a period of 10 days for the local New Year holiday and the full workforce did not return on time.

31st March 2008:
There was almost no work done in the first two weeks of the month owing to the holding of local council elections in the area. Work recommenced only in the last week of the month.

29th February 200:
Overall 80% of the construction work is now complete and Contractor is hoping to finish the entire task before the New Year holidays in mid April 2008.

31st January 2008:
Work still continues to progress at a slow but steady rate. Contractor is confident that he will be able to complete all work by the target date 31st May 2008.

31st December 2007:
Progress continues at a very slow pace owing to the special circumstances of the site. Overall 70% of the construction work is complete. Target end date is 31st May 2008.

30th November 2007:
Site continues to make a slow but steady progress with a limited workforce. Overall 65% of work is complete.

31st October 2007:
Contractor and workforce remobilised at site and expected to commence work shortly. Overall 60% of construction work has been completed. Target end date is 30th April 2008.

Site has been vacated by contractor- work remains halted

Contractor has agreed to re-mobilise after the local Vesak holidays. Site is still very vulnerable owing to presence of para military group in very close proximity. Safety of workers remains a key issue.

07 April 2007:
Site will be closed from 8-23 April for the local New Year holidays. Next Progress report will be on 30th April 2007.

31 Mar 2007:
Contractor has agreed to recommence work with full complement of workforce after local new year holidays.

28th Feb 2007:
Few Apex Comm members had high level meeting with Govt Military personnel and have received assurances that workers will be able to return to work site shortly.

15th Feb 2007:
The presence of a camp of a rebel faction in very close proximity to the site has scared off the workforce. This group is known for forced abduction of males below 30 to serve in their forces. Apex Comm hopes to take issue up with Govt authorities.

15th Jan 2007:
There has been no progress at all in the last two weeks. Site has been vacated.

Despite many assurances from the Contractor the work pace continues to be very slow. Project staff visited site and urged workers to increase their work pace.

Work pace continues to be disappointingly slow owing to drastically reduced workforce. Special Review meeting fixed for 26th November.

Contractor has only a skeleton staff at site citing safety concerns as a key factor for the non availability of labour.

Apex Committee had extensive discussions with Contractor and have offered him a range of incentives to complete work according to new timetable.

Contractor continues to stall offering various excuses. Apex Comm had lengthy discussions with Contractor and have agreed on a new time frame for completion of work.
