31st August 2007:
New School declared opened on 26th August 2007 in colourful ceremony with overseas sponsors from Rotary Denmark and members of Apex Committee in attendance.

15th August 2007:
New School is now ready for ceremonial opening. Workforce engaged in landscaping and finishing touches before the event which is expected to have overseas sponsors in attendance.

15th July 2007:
Work is on at hectic pace with extra work force engaged. Overall 92% of construction is complete and finishes being applied to all buildings. New school will be ready for ceremonial opening on 26th August as scheduled.

30th June 2007:
Progress of work continues at a steady pace. Contractor optimistic about completing school by mid August 2007 for ceremonial opening in last week of the month. 3-stry Bldg 1, 2nd Fl. Col.s, Bk. Wk -95% , F.Fl.Plaster-85% 3-stry Bldg 2- Carpentry-90%, Assembly Hall- Roof -100%, Principals Qtrs, Approach Road, Boundary Wall- &Ch. Link Fence – 100%, Water Tank- 100%, Toilets- Overall-90%.

30 April 2007:
Construction work is progressing steadily despite difficult location. Contractor/Lead Club confident of completing work by mid July.

07 April 2007:
Site will be closed from 8-23 April for the local New Year holidays. Next Progress report will be on 30th April 2007.

31 Mar 2007:
Project Engineer visited site in mid March and noted that progress was very good. Target completion date is fixed for end June 2007.

28th Feb 2007:
Work is continuing very well. Project Engineer will visit site around first week of March to inspect work completed and agreed date of completion with contractor.

31st Dec 2006:
Project staff who visited the site recently confirm that overall 65% of the work has been completed.The Approach Road, Chain Link Fencing and Boundary walls have been completed. The Principal’s quarters have also been completed. The two main 3 storeyed Buildings have both reached Roof Level and work on the Roof trusses is now in progress.

30th Nov 2006:
Work continues at very slow pace but this is commendable because movement in the area is restricted owing to security concerns. Project staff will visit site for inspection in first week of December 2006.

15th Nov 2006:
Work still continuing with drastically reduced work force. Project staff will visit site for inspection in first week of December 2006.

31st Oct 2006:
Work continues to progress in fits and starts dependent on the level of tension in the area. Progress is slow but commendable in the present circumstances. Planned visit of Project staff put off for early December.

15th Oct 2006:
Work is progressing steadily despite reduced workforce and sporadic interruptions. Project staff plan visit to site in last week October for inspection.

30st Sept 2006:

31st Aug 2006:
Work pace is very slow and not acceptable. Only around 20 workers on site. Apex Comm to issue ultimatum to contractor.

15th Aug 2006:
Construction site now turned into temporary refugee camp to accommodate influx of refugees fleeing from areas of heavy fighting in Muttur. Site staff now working with other NGOs in providing humanitarian relief to the inmates.

31st July 2006:
Work continues with reduced workforce despite the difficult location. Boundary wall & chainlink fence 100%. Water tank 80% complete.

30th June 2006:
Work continues to progress at a fair pace despite the difficult location. Principal's qtrs overall 90% complete. Assembly Hall columns & bk wk to FF 100%.

15th June 2006:
Work is progressing quite satisfactorily once again despite the difficult location. 3 stry Bldg 1 - 1st flr slab 100%. 3stry Bldg2 - 1st flr slab 100%. Principal's qtrs overall 80% complete.

31st May 2006:
Pace of work has now picked up slightly with increase of workforce. Expect full workforce to be mobilised by mid June.

15th May 2006:
Reduced workforce at site owing to present security situation. Apex Committee monitoring situation on a daily basis with MoE, Contractor and Project staff. The security of our workforce remains the highest priority of the Apex Committee.

30th April 2006:
Work continues to progress satisfactorily. Reduced workforce ate site owing to present security situation. Apex Committee monitoring situation very closely.

7th April 2006:
The construction site will be closed for the period 8-20 April for the local New Year holidays. Next update will be as at 30th April 2006.

28th Feb 2006:
Work continues at a good pace. 3 storeyed Bldg 1 - Columns upto 1st Flr level - 100%, 3 storeyed Bldg 2 - GF Blk wk - 70%, columns upto lintel level - 100%. Principals Qtrs completed. Assembly Hall columns upto roof level -70%.

15th Feb 2006:
Work continues at a very commendable pace despite the difficult location. 3 storeyed Bldg 1 - Columns upto lintel level - 100%, 3 storeyed Bldg 2 - GF Blk wk - 50%, coulmns upto lintel level - 100%. Principals Qtrs - painting work in progress.

31st Jan 2006:
No real progress owing to tension in the area which have posed security risks. Workmen who had earlier left the site have now almost all of them returned.

15th Jan 2006:
Simmering civil unrest in the area is hampering our progress and causing some concern. Security of workforce is our first priority.

Work progressing at a healthy pace.overall 20% of the work is complete in all areas.

31st Oct 2005:
Construction work continues at a very good pace. Have incorporated a few additional requirements of MoE regarding structural improvements.

15th Oct 2005:
Construction work has now recommenced and is progressing well.Work is completed on the foundation of all sections including principal's quarters. Culvert on access road is now repaired and facilitates easier access to site.

30th Sep 2005:
Construction work temporarily halted owing to last minute request from MoE to change design of building and strengthen boundary walls.

15th Sep 2005:
Construction work has now commenced. Workforce mobilised at site.

31 August 2005:
Construction work delayed slightly - will now commence by mid September.

15 August 2005:
Paperwork approved and contract awarded. Expect construction work to begin by 25th August.

31 July 2005:
Award of contract delayed. Expect Foundation laying and construction work to begin by mid August.

15 July 2005:
Await final drawings/estimate from architect/contractor. Expect to award contract in mid July.

30 June 2005:
All paperwork has been completed and award to be made shortly. Expect Foundation laying by 31 July.

21 April 2005:
Preliminary designs and estimates have been forwarded to the Apex Committee for evaluation and award of contract.

7 Feb 2005:
Work has begun to clean out school premises and make preliminary inspections.
Expect to have initial estimates and BOQ’s in hand by last week February.
