31st Jan 2006:
Received final plea from MoE to give them time till end Feb 2006 to resolve all issues.

31st Dec 2005:
No progress at all in resolution of issues with MoE regarding final location of new building.

30th Nov 2005:
Apex Committee have deferred decision pending outcome of negotiations with sponsors.

15th Nov 2005:
Have finally received formal letter from MoE to construct school on former site. Apex Committee reviewing budget and will decide on course of action by end November.

31st Oct 2005:
MoE says it has no alternative but to rebuild school on original site with suitable protective measures in place.

15th Oct 2005:
No progress since last update. Took matter up with TAFREN who said they would settle issue by end October.

30th Sep 2005:
No progress since last update. Awaiting outcome from the MoE.

Tug-of-war over land continues with MoE and Coast Conservation. Ministry trying to acquire land again.

31 August 2005:
Court case dragging on so Coast Conservation Dept approval is being sought to site new school at original premises which is just within the buffer zone.

15 August 2005:
Land issue still unresolved. Have set MoE final deadline of 31st August 2005.

31 July 2005:
Land issue still not resolved by Ministry of Education who have requested for two more weeks.

15 July 2005:
Still await final resolution of land allocation from Ministry of Education. If land issue not resolved will have to drop school for another.

7 Feb 2005:
This is one of the schools that was totally destroyed by the tsunami and has to be relocated owing to its close proximity to the sea. Negotiations are presently underway with relevant Government officials and the Ministry of Education to identify a suitable block of land on which to relocate the school. If any state land is available progress will be faster than if private land has to be acquired by the state for this purpose.
