31st August 2007:
Heavy monsoon rains have begun and the roof is only half finished. Project Staff concerned over possible damage to interiors and have instructed Contractor to make all efforts to protect building from the rain until roof is completed again.
15th August 2007:
Original Contractor still absconding and only skeleton staff at site. Newly laid roof was sagging and work force instructed to redo it urgently. Sub contractor still unable to commence work in other areas.
15th July 2007:
New sub contractor unable to start work without proper handover from Original contractor. Apex Committee has issued ultimatum to Contractor to co-operate to complete school by end September 2007.
30th June 2007:
Apex Committee has decided to hand all remaining work to another sub contractor who will work under supervision of Lead Clubs. Target end date 15th August 2007.
15th June 2007:
Contractor has vacated site owing to security concerns but local contractor doing good job at a fair pace. Local contractor has competed all plastering work and also the chain link fence.
15th May 2007:
Contractor has vacated site over security concerns for his workforce.Local Sub-contractor mobilized at site to attend to Plaster work only. 15 labour at site. Local contractor has also forwarded quote for Chain Link Fencing which is being evaluated.
30 April 2007:
Work is still very slow and site was vacated prior to local New Year holidays following warning to Sinhala labour to vacate site. Almost 90% of labour force is affected and Contractor has now made arrangements to use a sub-contractor from the area to complete balance work. Target completion date in end June 2007.
07 April 2007:
Site will be closed from 8-23 April for the local New Year holidays. Next Progress report will be on 30th April 2007.

28th Feb 2007:
No progress at all. Apex Comm met with Contractor and have agreed a timeline to complete school. All initial contract work to be completed by mid April including water tank. Extra work of chain link fencing, landscaping to be complete by end May 2007.
15th Feb 2007:
Work pace has slowed down considerably due to lack of materials at site. Contractor has assured Apex Comm that work pace will pick up during latter half of the month.

Despite many assurances from the Contractor the work pace continues to be very slow. Project staff visited site and urged workers to increase their work pace. New target completion date is end january 2007.

Work pace has increased slightly following meeting between Apex Committee and Contractor. Expect full workforce to be mobilised by mid June.

Workforce greatly reduced owing to security concerns in the area. Expect remobilisation of full workforce by month end.

Work is progressing at a satisfactory pace. Principals qtrs completed upto lintel level. Work is now in progress on foundations of 3 storeyed bldg.

Heavy rain has disrupted the work and hampered progress. Need to construct few temporary sheds away from the work site to accommodate students.
31st Dec 2005:
Workforce is presently engaged in demolition work and clearing of site. Construction work expected to commence in first week of January 2006. Target completion date 30th June 2006.
